Mi Casa is Sous Casa

Everyone knows that home is where the heart is, and Sous Casa is a company with a big heart. Sous Casa offers retail and local delivery of frozen food, and struck gold, revolutionizing the Richmond community’s view of frozen burritos in particular. But they didn’t keep this gold to themselves. When the pandemic occurred, Sous Casa shared their delicious burritos with under-resourced Richmond communities. This community-oriented business has made it its mission to donate as many burritos as it can. 

Operating out of Hatch Kitchen, the Sous Casa team is led by Chef Jim Hamilton, a rock star in the kitchen who has prepared meals for well-known touring acts like Beyonce/Jay-Z, Phish, Jon Bon Jovi, and many more. This fame has spread to Richmonders, as Jim and Co-owner, Anj McClain, have seen an increased demand for their frozen burritos in retail spaces. About a year after Sous Casa’s launch, their products can now be purchased in local Richmond Markets such as Yellow Umbrella Provisions in the West End, Strawberry Street Market in the Fan, and Scott’s Market in Scott’s Addition. While increasing its presence in the retail space, the company plans to continue to offer home delivery. Currently, the company does more than 600 deliveries a month to the city of Richmond, as well as Henrico and Chesterfield counties.
